The publication of the Heat and Buildings Strategy emphasised the key role heat networks will play in achieving this. There is a significant opportunity for responsible, private capital to step into this space to join up with public investment and deliver carbon savings, environmental benefits and social impact across communities in England and Wales.

The BEIS Heat Investment Vehicle (BHIVE) allows public sector heat network owners/developers in England and Wales to procure funding and funding-related services for their heat network projects from a range of potential funders.
