SUMMARY:Heat Networks: South East England - The Trade Council of Denmark in the UK and Ireland
DESCRIPTION:Conference on heat networks in South East England. Held in Brighton Wednesday 27 April 2022.\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout this event\n\n\nHeat networks form an important part of the Government’s plan to reduce carbon and cut heating bills for customers. \nRecent spikes in wholesale energy prices have sent shockwaves around the world and ignited the debate about the need to accelerate the transition away from gas boilers as the primary means to heat our homes and businesses. \nOn Wednesday 27 April\, the Danish Embassy in the UK is organising a conference looking at the potential for heat networks across the South East of England. The event will highlight recent local heat network developments including examples from Crawley Borough Council\, Kent County Council and Adur & Worthing Councils. \nYou will also hear from industry from in Denmark about their experiences of transitioning heat networks to net-zero by integrating renewables as well as waste-heat. \nCome along to find out how 90% of heat network customers in Denmark have seen unchanged or falling heat prices despite the gas price increase\, whilst 90% of customers on individual solutions have seen price rises.

SUMMARY:BEIS Heat Investment Vehicle - Heat Networks Event
DESCRIPTION:Heat networks are vital to achieving a clean\, cost effective and just transition to net-zero and deliver a wide variety of benefits to the environment\, consumers\, and the economy.  What was once at the periphery of local authority energy planning is increasingly a cornerstone of Council decarbonisation strategies and is right at the heart of the government’s plans for a Green Industrial Revolution and its commitment to Level-Up Britain.  For Local Authorities to achieve their own net zero goals\, there is significant opportunity to work in conjunction with industry investors to deliver their decarbonisation strategies as well as a multitude of social and environmental benefits\, across communities in England and Wales. \nThe BEIS Heat Investment Vehicle (BHIVE) allows public sector heat network owners/developers in England and Wales to procure funding and funding-related services for their heat network projects from a range of potential funders. \nIn this session we will be covering recent regulation and policy updates around Heat Networks\, as well as hearing first-hand how Heat Network projects have benefited from private sector funding and investor’s perspectives on why BHIVE and public / private sector Heat Network projects are an area of interest to them. \nRegister here for the event: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/beis-heat-investment-vehicle-heat-networks-event-tickets-274172185387

SUMMARY:Placebased investing - heat networks joining up communities
DESCRIPTION:ABOUT THIS EVENT: \nMeeting the UK’s climate change targets will undeniably require the decarbonisation of our homes and buildings. The publication of the Heat and Buildings Strategy emphasised the key role heat networks will play in achieving this. There is a significant opportunity for responsible\, private capital to step into this space to join up with public investment and deliver carbon savings\, environmental benefits and social impact across communities in England and Wales. \nThe BEIS Heat Investment Vehicle (BHIVE) allows public sector heat network owners/developers in England and Wales to procure funding and funding-related services for their heat network projects from a range of potential funders. \nPlace-based impact investing can deliver both financial returns and address wider societal challenges. \nAgenda (subject to change): \n• Overview of the heat network market and expected changes \n• Understanding the low carbon policy environment \n• Place-based investing – what is it and why should you get involved \n• Access opportunities via BHIVE \n• Q&A

SUMMARY:We're Investing In Heat Networks: Meet The Projects Awarded HNIP Funding
DESCRIPTION:Discover the projects from across England and Wales who have been awarded HNIP funding\, and learn how to unlock your own heat network.\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout this event\n\n\nHeat Networks have been proven around the world as a reliable\, cost-effective and low carbon means of heat\, yet just 2% of buildings are heating this way in the UK. To provide much needed scale to this market\, the Government is committed to investing up to £320m of support to individual projects across England and Wales. \nSo far\, the Heat Networks Investment Project (HNIP) has announced £165 million of funding awarded to projects\, and this session will introduce to you the successful projects. It is a great opportunity to learn from those who have been through the application process and beyond. \n  \nThe Agenda (subject to change)\n9.00 – 9.05: Introduction\, Samantha Crichton (Gemserv LTD) \n9:05 – 9:10: Policy Overview\, John Saunders (Department for Business\, Energy and Industrial Strategy) \n9:10 – 9:20: Introducing the Heat Networks Investment Project (HNIP)\, Ken Hunnisett (Triple Point) \n9:20 –10:20: Project Presentations* \n10:20 -10:30: Break \n11:00 – 12:00: Themed Breakout Rooms* \n  \n*Each funded project will give a short introduction. You can find out more about each project by either joining the relevant breakout room (see below)\, or through a more detailed interview which will be shared on our social media feeds. \n** These breakout rooms will be themed based on the technology deployed in the heat network. At present\, these breakout rooms include: \n1. Heat Pumps \n2. Mine Energy \n3. Energy From Waste \n4. Gas CHP
